Canons Ashby

This weekend we had a rental car and nothing (planned) to do with it so we took off to Canons Ashby, a National Trust house from the Tudor era. Given over to the trust only recently, it was in amazing condition considering how long it has been in private hands (almost 500 years). By this I mean there weren’t too many modernisations that left the property changed beyond its era. A particularly nice touch was how they re-instated the croquet lawn, it was so nice, we gave it a go. Guess who won?
