Meat and three veg.

We passed through our newly opened local supermarket and picked up some lovely fillet steak on Tuesday.  In deciding what to have with it we didn’t realise that we had chosen “meat and three veg”.  Actually it was…

Pan fried fillet steak -  rare – sliced thinly

oven roasted chips

salad of butter lettuce and sliced tomato – covered with fresh salsa verde and fresh goat’s cheese.

Topped off with a lovly French Cotes de Blayne from Chateau les Millards.

Rare steak??? That stuff’s still mooing. BTW is it good Aussie beef or the English “Mad Cow” variety.

I was reading my McDonalds hamburger box yesterday and inside it says that nearly two thirds of the worlds McDonalds stores use Aussie beef.

It’s not rare, it’s cooked well! Something I had to get used to after my education in incarceration that I received growing up in Harcourt!! Yes it’s 100% British beef… but it’s not mad any more.
