Turns out Charles Darwin was not that interested in Australia while he was there. He was bored and grumpy and missed a lot of “Australian” native fauna. He didn’t even see a kangaroo! Maybe he needed a better guide. Maybe he spent too much time in the pubs checking out the locals. Will we ever know??

Back in 1836 there wouldn’t have been many pubs to check out. Gues he didn’t get to check out all our great snakes either.
