Sussex and beyond
To escape the snow in Oxford (see last post) we headed to Sussex to have a look around where Kate was born. Since she hadn’t been there for about 26 years, she couldn’t remember much! We stayed with a friend of the family and had a great time in their company. While there we looked around at various villages and made a trip to Brighton (famous for it’s pier and it’s pebble beach). It was a lovely sunny day in Brighton… to the extent that I managed to get my bald patch sun burnt (yeah I know, not only am I an idiot, but I’m unique as I’m one of the few people who can get sun-burnt in April in England – I have been congratulated by many on my effort).
We have since purchased sun-screen (SPF 50+ is available here…)
The highlight of the food side of the trip was eating whelks. What are whelks? Sea snails. See photo HERE
